The Centre for Research on Canadian-Russian Relations (CRCR)
The Centre for Research on Canadian-Russian Relations (CRCR) was founded at Carleton University in 1990, on the basis of a generous grant from the Donner Canadian Foundation. It was re-located to the University Partnership Centre at Georgian College in the summer of 2006. The CRCR is self-financing, seeking grants and contracts for multiple projects. The Russia and Eurasia Documents Annual (REDA), which has subscribers in 17 countries, has been edited at the CRCR since 1990. The 9th volume of its monographic “Russia-Canada Series” has recently appeared. The CRCR has completed contracts and arranged briefings for many government departments and private business, among them the Departments of National Defence, Foreign Affairs, and CSIS.
The Centre also provides research stipends and employment for students and has an extensive list of occasional papers that it markets to libraries and other organizations. It houses a unique collection of Russian archival documents on Canada (20,000 pages), and provides research information to scholars, journalists and other interested parties.
